Guest Lecture: Evidence-Based Protocols for Integrating Homeopathy into Breast Cancer Treatment Plans

Overview

Dr. Heidi Weinhold, ND, will discuss the advantages of Integrating Homeopathy into Breast Cancer Treatment Plans. Homeopathic medicine has a low risk of side effects because it is micro dosed. Incorporating Homeopathy is a cost-effective, low risk adjunct treatment and may be considered in patients undergoing mastectomy, breast reconstruction and/or radiation. Homeopathic medicine is available to everyone. Attendees will receive an easy to follow Homeopathic chart that medical providers can use to dose homeopathy and incorporate homeopathic protocols into their Breast Cancer Treatment Plans.

Learning Objectives:

1. Include an easy to follow Homeopathic Chart that medical providers can use to dose homeopathy and incorporate homeopathic remedies into the different stages of breast cancer treatment plans.

2. Literature review of clinical studies revealing that incorporating homeopathy in Peri-Surgical Protocols reduced drain removal time by 18%, decreased pain, reduced opioid intake, reduced seroma formation, and can potentially improve survival and quality of life for patients living with breast cancer.

3. Review evidence for using homeopathic Calendula cream for radiation induced dermatitis.

4. Review evidence for using Homeopathy as a non-pharmacologic approach for pain relief.

About the Speaker

Dr. Heidi Weinhold received the Alumni Award from Southwest College in recognition of her contribution to the advancement of Naturopathic Medicine. In 2017, Southwest College further honored Dr. Weinhold by bestowing upon her an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. From 2006-2018, Dr. Weinhold served as the legislative chair for the Pennsylvania Association of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Weinhold received the 2017 Physician of the Year Award by the Pennsylvania Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Dr. Weinhold has a private practice in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania and is the managing member of Appalachian Botanical Company LLC.
